Tony grew up in Boulder, CO, where he started to learn to
play trumpet in the 5th grade. A few years later, his band director
advised him to switch instruments, since the trumpet was clearly not a
good match for him. He eventually took up the trombone, and has loved
playing it ever since. Throughout High School he took advantage of
every musical opportunity he could.
Tony moved to the Bay Area to attend Stanford, where he studied
trombone with Mac Kenley and played in the Stanford Jazz Orchestra
with Fred Berry, as well as the Stanford Symphony Orchestra.
Through these, he has performed with Louis Bellson, Dee Dee
Bridgewater, and John Faddis, as well as performing the Verdi Requiem
in the Sydney Opera House. Other bay area music groups Tony performs
with include Church of the Highlands and Children's Musical
Theater of San Jose.
Tony currently lives in San Francisco and works as a consultant for
Accenture.
